Environment and Art
|

Purpose:
Create a prayerful environment for the liturgy of the church
through the use of color and symbols for the major liturgical
seasons and feasts, as well as special holidays to enhance the
worship space.

How You Can Help Environment
and Art |
|
Following is information to help you discern whether joining the
Environment and Art ministry is the volunteer service for you.
|
|
ACTIVITIES/FUNCTIONS
·
Prepare the church environment for liturgical seasons
·
Consult with Director of Liturgy on all activities
·
Order, purchase, design and execute all new elements of art for the
church
·
Water the church plants weekly
·
Collaborate with the Pastoral Center on installation and removal of
all church decorations

MEETING FREQUENCY/TIME/PLACE
Meet monthly between September and June the first Tuesday of the
month at 3:00pm in the choir area
Time Commitment:
Varies; all volunteers are welcome regardless of the amount of time
that can be commit
|

TASKS/SKILLS
·
A sense of teamwork
·
Watering plants
·
Carrying banners, vases, plants, nativity set, hangings,
wreaths, candles and stands
·
Any level of artistic skill or interest
·
Ability to negotiate and
reach compromises
·
Willing to give the Lord your best effort

CURRENT NEEDS
·
People with new ideas
·
Photographs
of other churches, inside decor
·
Anyone who can sew, paint or build with wood
·
Donated plants in good condition

Narthex hangings for summer and fall
