Boy Scouts
|
|
Purpose:
To conduct meeting and
outdoor program based on the principals of the national Boy Scouts
of America organization which promotes citizenship, character
development, and physical fitness for boys and young men ages 11-17.
As a proud ministry of the church, the Scouts and Scouters of
the troop also take seriously that part of the Scout Oath which
states “Duty to God and Country” and the Scout Law which includes a
“A Scout is Reverent”.

If you are interested in joining the Boy Scouts, have questions or
would like to volunteer to help the Boy Scouts, please contact

Following is information to help you discern whether joining
the Boy Scouts is the service for you.
|
|
ACTIVITIES/FUNCTIONS
· Monthly campouts (year round)
· Annual summer camp
participation (local and out of state)
· Annual high adventure outdoor
programs (backpacking, canoeing, and sailing treks)
· Community service
(Adopt-A-Highway, Eagle projects, special events service, etc.)
·
Advancement and religious emblems programs |

MEETING FREQUENCY/TIME/PLACE
Every Monday night (excluding holidays)
6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Social Center
|

TASKS/SKILLS
· Committee members (Chairman,
Advancement, Treasurer)
· Merit Badge counseling
· Special Events (Court of
Honor, etc.)
· Fundraising
·
Transportation

PREREQUISITE
· For Scouts: 11 years old or
10 ˝ and have finished the 5th grade, council
registration
·
For adults: council registration and background check |
