How You Can Help the Music Ministry

Following is information to help you discern whether joining the Music Ministry
is the volunteer service for you.

ACTIVITIES/FUNCTIONS

·  Sing at Masses – Sundays, Holydays of Obligation, other special occasions

·  Combined choirs (bilingual) sing for special occasions, including Christmas and Easter

·  Annual Choir Appreciation Dinner

·  Participate in annual Christmas Giving Tree

MEETING FREQUENCY/TIME/PLACE

·  Combined 5:00 p.m. (Sat), 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. choir – rehearse 2^nd & 4^th Tuesdays – 7p.m.- Church

·  9:30 a.m. choir – rehearse Tuesdays – 7:15 p.m. – Music Room, Kemper Hall

·  5:00 p.m. (Sun) – rehearse Wednesdays – 6 p.m. – 1427 Jackson Rd.

Time Commitment: See above for rehearsals; also, approximately 30-45 minute warm up before each Mass

TASKS/SKILLS

·  Arrive on time for all rehearsals and Masses with necessary music

·  Rehearsal on own outside of all choir rehearsals

·  Calling and/or e-mailing members, if possible

·  Setup of annual choir appreciation dinner, if possible

·  Singers- be able to sing on pitch; no music reading ability necessary

·  Instrumentalists- proficient with instrument to the extent of being able to accompany singers
